Adidas Trainers

Adidas is one of those brands that is synonomous with quality and is one people all over the world instantly recognise.  The company was formed in 1949 by Adolf Dassler, which is where the company name comes from.

Over time Adidas have developed many different types of sportswear, but perhaps they are most recognised for their trainers (or sneakers if you’re from that side of the pond). From high street fashion to technologically advanced footwear, they cover the whole range – for men, women and children too.

One of the newest running shoes from Adidas is the Supernova Sequence, which is aimed at both men and women who are serious about their exercise. They claim that it can adapt to individual styles of running, providing comfort and ultimately reducing the likelihood of injury from the constant pounding of the runner’s feet on the ground.  This is pretty advanced stuff and is one of their top of the range Adidas womens trainers, although there is also a mens version available.

Like many retailers, Adidas sometimes collaborate with designers to further promote their brand. One recent such collaboration was with Stella McCartney – a relative newcomer to fashion, but one with a high public image.  This seems to have been quite a success, with special versions of jackets, shirts and Adidas trainers for women.

Keeping the kudos of the brand for any retailer is obviously paramount. One way in which companies try to do this is to keep exclusivity of some of their products.  Adidas for example have a few womens trainers and men that are only available to buy from their own store.

Recently Adidas aquired another high street name – Reebok, showing that the company is financially strong and one that is constantly looking to evolve.  I wonder if Mr. Dassler ever thought his company would grow to be such a big name in the world of sportswear? It would appear it is here to stay for many years to come.
